LEGACY
My artist/engineering nature is always experimenting with available materials. My dad was a big part of molding those aspects about me. His expansive wall library was a marvel and inspired everyone who visited. He did not hesitate to share the knowledge of his readings and experiences to help friends, family or strangers. When he passed, I learned a lot more about him by digging deeper into his library and files, such as we shared a passion for poetry and he had folders of typewritten poems that I never knew about.

The Legacy series is my way of preserving and sharing the knowledgeable and giving nature of my father. It is the preservation of back covers from books in his vast library, which naturally separated from its aging self and it is dedicated to anyone who ever had a million dollar idea :) I had the covers stored safely for some time but the idea came to me after a conversation with my father-in-law revealed that we both loved reading the blurbs of books and will often never open a book before turning it over. Blurbs tend to provide enough information to capture your interest, but omit enough to encourage further research and curiosity.
Luckily the blurbs I had available to use fit perfectly with my main source of artistic inspiration, which is the story of the African diaspora both in the Caribbean and U.S.A.
